Bosch SCRNFLTR10 is designed to allow water to pass through the refrigerator without filtering the water. A good product .

The cartridge was easy to install and eliminated a $50.00 - $70.00 a month charge to bypass the unnecessary installment for a purifying cartridge (something I was not aware of when I purchased the Bosch refrigerator.)

New bypass cartridge works great in my Bosch refridgerator

Since I have a whole house water filter and I'm on city water I decided to replace my Bosch ice maker water filter with a bypass cartridge that just filters larger particulate. It seems to be working great. It looks like they still recommend replacing the cartridge every 3 years though but that's better than every 6 months.
