Air Gap Faucet FAQs

Can the air gap be removed from the faucet?

The use of the air gap feature on SpiroPure faucets is optional and does not have to be used. However, the air gap is built-in to the faucet and cannot be removed. Please note that as the optional air gap cannot be removed, the faucet will require a minimum 3/4" hole and ideally a 7/8" hole to fit more comfortably.

The air gap on my faucet is leaking constantly. Is this a defect?

Water leaking from the air gap is generally caused by improper installation or from a restriction or blockage blocking water from reaching the drain. Water drains from the system by gravity, so any kind of restriction can cause the water to back up. Please check that the drain line is free from kinks and has a relatively straight, downward path to the drain saddle. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact our helpful customer service team. We recommended starting by emailing images of your installation with your inquiry.

Can the base of the faucet be rotated and installed so the handle is on the left?

No. All of the SpiroPure faucets are designed to have the single-lever handle on the right side of the faucet.

Can I use the air gap on the faucet as an air gap for a dishwasher?

No, unfortunately, any air gap faucet will not work as a dishwasher air gap. The tubing lines and air gap itself on the SpiroPure faucet would not be able to handle the pressure and wastewater associated with a dishwasher, as they are designed to handle the much smaller amounts associated with an Undersink RO Water Filter System.

Is the SP-FC100-BK faucet matte black only or does it have bronze accents?

SpiroPure SP-FC100-BK is a matte black faucet. It does not have any bronze accents, however, it will make an excellent compliment to kitchens that have a main kitchen faucet that has an oil rubbed bronze finish. Faucets with an oil rubbed bronze finish have a matte black finish with bronze accents.
