Alkaline Water FAQs

What is Alkaline Water?

Alkaline water is simply water that has had it’s pH modified to be more alkaline than acidic. Normal drinking water pH is between 6.5 – 8.5. Alkaline water has been filtered to be less acidic, and more alkaline, somewhere in the 8 – 13 pH range.

Is Alkaline water better for you than regular water?

No. There is simply no firm scientific evidence to indicate that alkaline water presents any significant health benefits. The reason for this is that the pH throughout your body is regulated by various bodily systems, such as the kidneys. This means that the only pH in our bodies that we have any external control over are the pH levels in our stomach and urine.

While alkaline water may have some minor benefits, such as alleviation of heartburn, or acid reflux, there is no evidence that it carries any wider benefits to the human body.
